Save the Water Babies

 

Using ORCA’s Ecotoxicity Program, Indian River Charter High Students worked side by side with ORCA scientists to map pollution in the Indian River Lagoon, analyzed the findings and created a dialogue within the community about how their actions affect marine life. Learn more.

 

 

 

COSEE

 

ORCA, in collaboration with the Smithsonian Marine Station at Fort Pierce, Indian River State College and Florida Institute of Technology, formed COSEE Florida, a research network that brings scientists, educators and people of all ages together to educate and inform them about the marine ecosystem in a way that stimulates community discussion and increases awareness of the value of scientific knowledge in environmental decision making. Internships

 

With a strong commitment to educating the scientists of the future, ORCA internships provide valuable research skills and lab experience for local college and high school students. ORCA interns are mentored by scientists in hands-on projects that generate a level of interest and commitment to marine science and conservation that will support the scientific endeavors of the student interns throughout college and into their careers.
