George Jones Treasurer/Indian River Keeper

George Jones is the current Riverkeeper for the Indian River Lagoon. Prior to this position, George worked for over three decades in both the Division of Recreation and Parks and the Florida Department of Environmental Protection. He has held positions as Ranger, Assistant Park Manager, Park Manager and Bureau Chief, in which he supervised more than 300 employees in 32 State Parks throughout South Florida and oversaw a budget of more than $4 million.
As the Indian Riverkeeper, George is an advocate of the Indian River ecosystem and is profoundly committed to ORCA’s efforts to improve its health by bringing water quality monitoring into the 21st century. A long-time supporter, ORCA is honored to formally include George as a Board Member.
